The World of Books
(Last Updated On: June 27, 2017)

In the month of December 2016; my husband and I had been on a three and a half days trip to Barcelona.

For details of the previous days click the following:

Day 1 in Barcelona

Day 2 in Barcelona

Day 3 in Barcelona

After emptying our pockets and increasing our luggage we were looking forward to Day 4 eagerly.

Day 4 was a bit dicey for us. The weather was not so good so it was difficult to decide what to do.

Spanish Village in Barcelona

Also known as The Poble Espanyol is basically an open air architectural museum. The museum basically depicts various regions/parts of spain. Apart from the various architectural buildings there are also various restaurants and small workshops depicting art from various parts of Spain. There is also a contemporary art museum inside the village. If you want to see each and everything it will take more than 5 hours. But at the information centre inside the village one can get a detailed map and the staff also guides regarding the important places to see. It’s like seeing spain at a super fast pace ;-). We enjoyed ourselves a lot. The best part was that we had the opportunity of visiting a glass workshop. We actually saw how bottles and jars are made.

Font Magica de Montjuic

This place is just a few minutes on foot from the spanish village. Apart from the beautiful fountain it has many other things to offer. Besides the fountain there is a beutiful building. It is the National Art Museum of Catalonia. We did not go inside the Museum. BUt the whole are is so appealing to the eyes that we just roamed around in the garden and clicked some photos.

Camp Nou

What we actually wanted to do was visit Montserrat. It is small mountain with a monastery. But as the weather was not very good, we decided against it. Instead, we went to Camp Nou. Camp Nou is the largest football stadium in Spain. It’s the home stadium of FC Barcelona. We took the tour of Camp Nou which included a visit to the stadium, the trophy room, the changing rooms and stratedy rooms for the guest team and some other places inside the stadium. Even though my husband and I are not football fans; but the moment we entered the stadium we skipped a breath. With the audio guide running in the background we could actually feel the intensity and the passion that the audience might be feeling during a real game.
It’s a must go for all; irrespective you are a football fan or not.
There is also a FC Barcelona two storey store inside Camp Nou. One can buy all the goodies which the club has to offer.

The overall trip was very eventful. We covered majority of the things we wanted to see. Four days was enought time to cover Barcelona.
